Terms and Conditions
REBarCamp (Australia) Inc. Membership Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions govern your membership with [REBC or Association Name] (the “Association”) and must be agreed to at the time of joining or renewing your membership. By applying for membership, you agree to abide by these terms as well as the Association’s Constitution, Model Rules, and any applicable by-laws.
1. Eligibility
- You may apply for Ordinary Membership if you:
- Support the objects of the Association.
- Hold a current licence or registration relevant to real estate practice (e.g. agent, property manager, assistant agent).
- Are actively employed in the industry and not subject to disqualification or disciplinary action.
- You may apply for Affiliate Membership if you:
- Are engaged in a profession adjacent to real estate (e.g. legal, financial, technology, media), or
- Can demonstrate a genuine and ongoing interest in the Association’s purpose and activities.
2. Membership Obligations
By becoming a member, you agree to:
- Act in good faith and in the best interests of the Association.
- Comply with the Constitution, Model Rules, Code of Conduct, and any policies adopted from time to time.
- Pay all applicable membership fees when due.
- Keep your contact information up to date.
- Treat all members, volunteers, and attendees at Association events with respect.
3. Fees and Renewals
- Annual fees are set by the Committee and may vary by membership class.
- Membership ceases automatically if fees remain unpaid for more than 3 months after the due date.
- Former members may apply for reinstatement at the Committee’s discretion by paying any outstanding fees.
4. Use of Member Benefits
- Member discounts and access to exclusive content, event tickets, or benefits are for the individual or organisation named in the application.
- Member benefits may not be transferred, sold, or used for commercial purposes without express written approval.
5. Privacy and Records
- The Association maintains a register of members including your name and a nominated email or postal address.
- Your information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and is only used for purposes connected with the Association’s functions.
6. Event Participation
By participating in Association-run events, you agree to:
- Abide by the Event Participation Rules and REBarCamp code (e.g. Rule of Two Feet, No Selling, Respectful Conduct).
- Take responsibility for your own experience and learning on the day.
- Be photographed or recorded unless you opt out in writing prior to the event.
7. Suspension or Expulsion
- Your membership may be suspended or terminated by the Committee if you:
- Breach these Terms or the Rules of the Association.
- Act in a way that is prejudicial to the Association’s interests or reputation.
- A fair disciplinary process will be followed, and you may request mediation if dissatisfied with the outcome.
8. Resignation and Refunds
- You may resign by giving written notice. No refunds are issued for unused portions of membership.
- Outstanding debts remain payable and may be recovered.
9. Limitation of Liability
- The Association is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your participation in membership activities or events.
- Members are only liable for unpaid fees.
10. Changes to Terms
- These terms may be updated by the Committee. Members will be notified of material changes via email or through the Association’s website.
